Welcome to Ferngully Farm.
Est. 2024 by a Mother / Daughter Farm Team with a passion for growing beautiful things to see, smell and taste as well as share our home-grown produce with our local community.
We practice Organic and Biodynamic gardening on 2.5 acres deep in the valley of Cedar Creek, QLD. We are surrounded by mountains, rainforests and fresh spring-fed creeks.
We feel honored to be here with our flock of chickens, we have about 20 hens and our famous rooster “Pretty Boy”, 2 dogs; our beloved 5-year-old German Shepherd, Aspen and our newest addition, Ted, a miniature Fox Terrier puppy who we hope will make a great farm hand.
Our YouTube channel documents some DIY Biodynamic practices, but mostly, it is sharing our goat family antics! We have 5 Nigerian Dwarf goats who bring us so much joy while pitching in for lawn mowing and weed control.
Our aim is to not only supply our family with nourishing home-grown produce, but to share it with our local community via markets and workshop/farm tour days.

Ashley McHardy
LEAD FARMER
Artist. Creative Vibrant Living. NDIS Support and Small-Scale Farmer.
We love growing a variety of things for a kitchen garden, as well as a medicinal garden of herbs.
As an artist, I love to create with nature, oftentimes I will be making a nature mandala with flower petals and herbs, or homemade charcoal with pruned tree branches and weaving natural fibers into small baskets and useful containers. I try not to waste anything, and reuse or reimaging a use for most things. Organic living is a high priority and value of mine for the health of my family as well as vitality for myself.Farming is a way for me to connect with the land I am honored to call home in a deeper way, and to create nourishing meals with the food we have grown is so satisfying!
My work with NDIS has me hosting clients at home where we create delicious meals together, working with some of the produce we grow on-site and developing a range of meals for each client.
Weaving my love of small-scale farming, creative arts, holistic therapies and NDIS support has enabled me to craft a rewarding and dynamic career from home. -
Evelyn
APPRENTICE FARMER
Artist. Expert tree climber. Sampler of garden goodies (aka product tester) idea creator, animal caretaker.
Evelyn is 8 years old and has always wanted to have her own business. She loves the idea of going to markets and giving farm tours (she has been known to upsell so be prepared to buy more Kale than you know what to do with).
Her world as an 8-year old is filled with beauty and wonder, she has great ideas for the space and keeps us busy putting her ideas into practice. There are functional farms, and there are beautiful farms. Evelyn has high expectations that it is not just a functional farm but also beautiful!
She is a wonder with our animals, taking great care with raising baby chickens, feeding the goats and tending to the baby goats. She loves to play with Ted the puppy and will even clean up his messes.
In the kitchen she loves to get her hands dirty, making flatbread, treats and yummy dinners with Mum. -
Ted + Aspen
FARM HANDS
Aspen is our beloved 5-year-old German Shepherd. She has earned “Queen” status as the lead Farm Hand and is helping to train our feisty Fox Terrier, Ted.Aspen grew up in the suburbs, but she much prefers the daily adventures on our 2.5-acre property, saying hello the the chickens, occasionally herding the goats (still learning!) and the reward is almost daily creek swims in our backyard.
Ted is our newest addition, he can get into places Aspen can’t, which creates a pro vs con scenario, but we hope he will learn quickly. Currently, he sleeps 20 hours per day so he isn’t a great deal helpful yet, if he would let Mum get a full 8 hours sleep, then the real training can begin! -
Chris McHardy
JACK-OF-ALL FARM HAND
If it needs fixin’ Chris can do it!
Evelyn and Ash do most of the farming and gardening, but Chris is always on-call for the heavy lifting, engineering of ideas and building things or fixing things we need. We couldn’t do what we do without him!
