WHAT CLIENtS ARE SAYING
“Since we have started cooking sessions with Ashley, we have noticed a big difference in our daughters eating habits! She is more engaged in food and meal times, can cook meals at home for the family and we have noticed a great improvement to her emotional wellbeing - a testament to the nutritional foods she is eating and preparing for herself”.
NDIS Support Partner
Core Supports +
Welcome to the cooking space!
Where I support your goals for independence and capacity building utilizing the core support funding.
Cooking is a meditative passion for me; I delight in preparing wholesome meals that nourish both my body and my family's. I hold the conviction that food, when thoughtfully prepared and joyously celebrated, serves as medicine and has the power to unite communities.
For our cooking sessions, I meet you where you are at.
I work with clients who are new to cooking or rely solely on microwaves for their meals. Despite some being selective eaters, we consistently manage to delight their palates with tasty home-cooked dishes, which often leads to them becoming more daring in their culinary choices after each session.
Many clients have multiple goals in mind, which may include:
More independence. This may mean you want to move out of home or just create a new life skill.
Try new things and gain confidence with cooking.
Support good eating habits and learn about your likes and dislikes
Gain skills from budgeting and meal planning, we can work with any budget. It is amazing what we can create and how many weekly meals for $50 for one person. On average, we create 15-18 meals on a $50 budget for one person.
Increase social opportunities; if you can cook you can invite friends and family over for dinner!
Clients are fond of visiting my Cedar Creek home, close to Samford. Nestled in stunning acreage, embraced by mountains and rainforest, we enjoy private access to Cedar Creek. Visitors delight in mingling with our 18 chickens, small herd of goats and our 2 friendly dogs. Clients love to meander and wander through the vegetable garden, which we nurture diligently to cultivate our organic produce. We have an abundance to offer, enhancing your recipes should you wish to sample some of our homegrown delights.
If you prefer to cook in your own kitchen, I am available to come to you. This can be arranged once per month or fortnightly, as you prefer.
SOME MEALS WE HAVE CREATED TOGETHER
Bolognese / Shepherds Pie / Fish Tacos / Lamb Kofke / Nachos / Nourish Bowls / One-Pan-Wonders / Pumpkin Soup / Cream of Potato + Bacon Bone Soup / Chicken Noodle Soup/ Butter Chicken with Rice and homemade flat bread / Fried Rice / Roast Chicken - and so much more!
