This is part of a series, titled “Our Inner Alien” explores the conversation we have with ourselves about our perceived faults.
It can be used as a self-love reminder when we are experiencing negative self-talk or added to a parent toolkit for coming-of-age children feeling all the feels.
Fitting in is hard work, I believe it is hard work because we aren’t meant to. The process of individuation is an arduous task, it doesn’t mean we can’t have community around it, but we must keep our hearts and minds open to the endless possibility of what fitting in means or redefine it altogether.
The lesson of ‘needing everyone to like you’ is a hard one for many, you will know it if this is one of your lessons and this is a reminder to be comfortable in your own skin.
There are a few things with this artwork that can be interpreted, like the little 3rd eye of wisdom, the eyes seem to look up to it as if to say “I trust you, I know you”
